Style quiz
What signaturesuits you?
Eight short questions about where you sign, what you sign with, and what you'd like your signature to say. At the end you'll see your own name in the style that suits you best.
- 8 questions
- about 2 minutes
- no sign-up
Your name stays on your device: it's only there so you can see the result in your own name. We don't send it anywhere.
How does the quiz work?
Every answer gives points to one or two styles. The questions are about where and with what you sign, how long and how readable you'd like it to be, and which lines you like. Whatever scores highest at the end is your style. The runner-up is shown too, because many people sit between two styles.
This isn't a personality test. We can't tell what kind of person you are from your signature, and we don't think anyone else can either: we wrote about that in a separate article. This quiz tells you which form suits your taste and the way you use your signature.
In the result, your name is drawn by Calligra's signature engine, the same one that draws the designs in the app. Each style has several handwriting variants, so two Emmas won't get exactly the same thing.
The eight styles at a glance
The same name, eight ways. If your result doesn't feel right, see which one is closest to you. What makes each style what it is, we show in detail in this article.
Elegant
A tall capital, long fine loops, a ceremonial sweep. Your signature is a little bit of ornament, and that's exactly right.
Classic
Orderly, rounded shapes with the calm of old-fashioned joined-up writing. Easy to read and never out of date.
Modern
Thin, airy lines, light waves, plenty of space between the letters. Fresh without being loud.
Clean
Few strokes, no needless decoration, an even rhythm. Quick to write and always the same.
Confident
A decisive capital, a straight stroke, a strong ending. A signature that doesn't apologise.
Dynamic
Fast, forward-leaning, written in one movement. Just like signing in a hurry, but with confidence.
Precise
Sharp angles, tight proportions, a clean crossbar. Short, exact and hard to mistake for anyone else's.
Balanced
A calm, even, readable form you can write the same way in any situation.
You've found your style. Now what?
- Try it on paper. Write your name ten times in this style with an ordinary pen. If the tenth still looks like the first, you're on the right track. The practice article has a one-week plan.
- Keep one official signature. If you pick a new style, introduce it everywhere rather than adding a second, parallel signature. When several forms do make sense is covered here.
- Look at your capital. Much of a style comes down to the capital letter. If you'd like to work on it, the article on capitals takes you through it step by step.
A signature for your name
In Calligra you pick your style, the AI draws your signature for your name in it, and teaches you to write it stroke by stroke.
